Ah, I made my own low carbs bread the other day. Mainly for hamburger, but tasty as sandwich too haha It's been a while since I had bread for breakfast. Mmm...

Oh, I'm also knitting a new thing for Freya. Don't know what yet haha But I like the colors. Minty greenish and fluffy pink.

Kladdkaka (swedish stickycake)

Right, so I made a sticky cake completely without sugar or carbohydrates.

It's a bit...different. A bit odd. Definitely sticky.

But in all honesty, regular flour and sugar is what makes it so delicious.
But this one's fine when you're on a diet though.

I made this so I can treat mom and Lasse to it tomorrow.

Mug Cake

Friday!

Woke up and had a family snuggle in bed for a while. ❤

We haven't done much today. I've been on the phone a lot though. I also made mug cake tonight as dessert. :)

Well, it was more like a "cup" cake. hah. But I really did a good job. Such tasty. Much goodness. Wow.

Yesterday I had fika with Ida. It had been a long time since we last met.


Stina and I have been talking a lot too, she's gonna pick me up once a week. WOOOOH. Finally someone's pushing me and taking the initiative to walk with me. IN THE WOODS. Lovely. Much nicer than concrete. Really.

I feel like, for being unemployed....I'm fucking busy.
I only just realized this, but I have a lot of friends. A LOT.
On sunday, Sofie and Lykke are coming over. Sweet. A little baby playdate.

Today

I've had a lot of shit going on lately. In a way. I suppose.

I'm not gonna mention how awful  yesterday was, so I'll just pretend that that day never happened.

The day before that, I baked some bread. (which btw was tasty)

Challah

I'm eating my home made  bread for breakfast. :)

Challah with sunflower seeds on it and cranberries inside it. Mmm...

Home made stuff really tastes waaaay batter than anything else.
Unless you fail and it tastes like crap.
Lucky for me, I didn't fail. hah.

I bought more yeast yesterday so I'm gonna bake some more bread now. Thinking about making Barkis tonight... Yep.

Welp, duty calls. Freya just puked everywhere. Yay.

Challah bread

I made Jewish french bread last night. :) It's called Challah/challe.
I did my own style though, with three different kinds of flour and cranberries in it. Mm...

It turned out very well.

Nice taste too. 

It's a thick and heavy bread if you ask me.

It was AWESOME freshly baked with butter and cheese on it. 

And this morning, our little baby koala wanted nothing more than to play with her sleeping father.
So she clawed him half to death and kicked his back for quite some time haha

Oh right, yesterday I got a message from a German, Aaaand he wrote in German as well... Lucky him I understand German. *smirk* He asked if I wanted to join their clan. hah. That was pretty rad if you ask me. Never happened before.

Thankgiving

Needless to say, yesterday was fucking epic.

And my dear hubby got totally shitfaced. hahaha

Just like how a real thanksgiving should be!

We were 17 people cramped up in our livingroom.

Gosh...for a moment there, before everyone found a place and a plate and so on...

I started worrying if this was a good idea or not. LOL

But it was. YAY!

It was such a nice evening. And the food, OMGASDFGHJKL...Soooo delicious. Aah...like a taste orgasm. And the desserts...oh my, the desserts.

Sadly, I didn't get a picture at all of the desserts.
Of course I forgot. -_-
I only managed to snap a pic of my possum pie while eating it.

Next year, NEXT YEAR DAMN IT.

You can all expect better pics then haha

But we had a lot of fun.
I'm probably not gonna invite my dad and Kuti though.
It's just too much of a hassle these days.
dad's not really in "shape" for a social gathering either. Even if he wants to -__-

But it's a year left till then. :)

Maybe mom can do the turkey?


Nathlie and Josse stayed till like 4.
When they checked the time it was like 03:30... And I did a LOT of cleaning after they left. Blah.

Possum Pie

Aaaah I'm so fucking proud.

My Possum Pie is done.
And it was sooooo damn delicious.

It's a nice feeling when you succeed in something you really wanna do well.

I'm ready for tomorrows Thanksgiving Dinner!

Chocolate and pannacotta

So I came home and checked on the Chocolate pudding and vanilla pannacotta mix.

SUCCESS. Success damn it!!!

Oooooooohwwwheeee!! This will be perfect to put in the pie.
I think it's even a wee bit firmer in texture than the original recipe. Sweet!

And she fucking loved it so I'm having high hope for my pie(s) now.
Yep. I'm making two. Mostly cause I need to know if it's tasty or not.
I refuse to serve a pie that tastes like shit.

But I'm pretty certain that this will be freakin' delicious!


So this jelly looking chocolatepudding/vanilla pannacotta mix that I made, will be one of the layers in the Possum Pie.

So, thanksgiving is next week.
But we're celebrating it on Saturday :D  Cause I said so.

Now, we have key lime pie and pecan pie for dessert so far.
But one more dessert is needed.
After all, we're going to be 15 people here. Yup.

And I just can't choose what to bake.


But I narrowed it down to these:

Southern Possum Pie (yum...this one is leading so far) And no, of course there's no possums in it.

Darn it..I just can't choose.
I mean, they all look delicious.
At first I had planned on doing Sweet Potato Pie but then I changed my mind.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm.............

Frost has never eaten Possum Pie so I'm kinda leaning more to that one at the moment. But hot damn they all look fucking tasty.





Now we'll go to bed, and I'll pretend to sleep. But in reality I'll be laying there in pure panic over tomorrow. I am SO fucking nervous.
Freya's getting her vaccination shots tomorrow at 10:30.
I'm dreading it. I can't bear to hear her cry her pitiful heartbreaking cry. It's different when it's her 'hey, I'm fucking mad' cy. Or the 'give me the booooooob' cry.

Or 'I took a dump now chaaaaange meeeee' cry.


Nooo...this cry, this cry shreds my heart to tiny pieces. It feels like my heart will break completely. I'll actually start crying with her if I can't comfort her. And I won't be able to comfort her. The doctors said it hurts like hell. :(

So Frost will go inside with her, and I'll wait outside.

Jeez, it hurts in my chest just thinking about it.

I have my moments

I woke up around 5am today.
I've done dishes, laundry and baked "scones".
Well, I say "scones" with rotation marks cause they look funny haha

And I had it all done by the time Frost woke up.
I thought it'd be nice like this once in a while.
Frost always made me breakfast and coffee and junk ♡

Thanksgiving

Sooo... We did out first Swedish thanksgiving.
Last year I spent thanksgiving Alabama :) So this year a whole new tradition was born. A Swedish thanksgiving with southern food ^_^

First time I made cornbread and cranberry sauce. All from scratch mind you. I'm so proud! Cause everyone loved my cornbread! :D WOHO!

We had a nice tasty turkey, Frost's very own potato salad, mashed potatoes a la southern style haha Turkey dressing, green bean casserole, and I made my chicken pie,abd Nas made fried chicken. And Kuti brought Persian chicken salad (Frost loved it) Josse made cheery cheesecake. Nathalie made pecan pie, and mom made chocolate mouse cake.

We were about 14 people here :)
Aaaaand I got to feel how stressful thanksgiving really is. Shoooot.... Haha

I did ok!

 

Well would you look at that?! It tastes really good! Nom nom! Y'all should praise me now.
Such a delicious bread I made on MY OWN. Woop woop! High five!

So... I made bread. Like... Bread on my own. Making flour out of almonds, coconut, hazelnuts etc.... And eggs and so on yeah you get the picture.

But I kinda just played around and experimented thinking 'how wrong can it go really?'

Pssshh.... Too much confidence is a bitch.

I ended up with a lump of cement. I could kill a person using this piece of bread.

Well I'ma try and eat it and we'll see if it actually is alright. Hah.

Swedish cheese cake

I did well on both making bread and the Swedish cheese cake. And Raaawrraaawr it's pretty tasty. Well, I kinda need lots of whipped cream and mashed berries on it though haha

well, everything I made is free from sugar and carbs. I did however use a wee bit of stevie in this one. :)

Bread!

Look look! This is the bread I made. There's a whole bunch of stuff in it... But the bread that I wrote that I'd make was freakin' delicious. I'm happy! Cause I can eat bread even though I can't eat carbs. Aaah lucky me.


Well my cheese cake is in the oven so.. Yep.

Pies and cookies

Aaargh I've been making Swedish apple pies today. And the flour was self rising (yeah I didn't know that... Hah) But they turned out alright anyway. But I made too much dough I guess cause its fucking hard for me to figure out how much a dl is in cups and grams and so on and I just made it as I saw fit haha But I decided to make simple cookies out of the rest of the dough.

Roger's coming over soon as well so he gets to eat some too. I'ma stuff my cute Frost with pie as well :D

Oh and here's the grand part... I'm making home made vanilla sauce. Turns out Americans don't have that. And they certainly don't use it for their pies either.. So this will be a new experience for both Frost, Roger and lil miss mother in law :)

Dinner

As many may already know, I LOVE to goo things up.
Making everything into a mess :D

So today I made salmon and white cabbage goo!

I love cooking with smetana.

it's a russian kind of sour unpasteurized cream, 

this is sooo delicious to use while cooking.

And thiiiiiiiis....nomnom

The final result. The perfect goo. 

yeah, I suck at using recipes... I fail everytime I try to use one. So I gave that up a long time ago. I cook by taste now :D And I succeed everyfuckingtime. Gaaah, so delicious.



Tomorrow I'll make....hmm...chicken soup. Cause I can. HAH.
